Afghan Gold “Behind the Scenes” Struggle

We’ve been hard at it here, editing away on our own version of our Afghan adventure, filming Tahir Shah’s search for the Gold of Ahmad Shah.

Kabul, Afghanistan
But the first bout of inspiration only took us so far. We then started experimenting with various themes and bits of voice over and soon we found that we had lost our way. New ideas where wheeled out in fierce attempts to keep moving forward no matter what.
Starting late last night and culminating in conscious awareness this morning, we all knew we had officially hit the wall. There was nothing more to say and thank god for that, as we had resorted to yelling at each other and trying all sorts of ways of putting the blame of the situation on each other.
The miraculous thing was that as soon as the editor had gone home and we all agreed that we found ourselves in a bit of a spot, we were suddenly able to think clearly again. We all calmed down and soon ideas started flowing to the editing table (keyboard) again.
I did spend most of the day out of the office today, writing and keeping my head down and discussions took place over skype. But tomorrow we’re all looking forward to a fresh start, chucking out old hang-ups and bad ideas, replacing them for open minds and a full-throttle-forwards mentality.
Let’s see how it goes… I’m not kidding… it better go well.
